Girls Day

I had a wonderful time yesterday at the Crystal Mall with Tempest & Jacknife. It was wonderful to 1) have girlfriends to shop with & 2) not have to haul Cassidy around. Due to the severe snowstorm up here in Worcester, Blixx didn't have to work after all so he stayed home with Cass & I got to go by myself.
What a weird weather day...I left at around 11am & it was snowing up a storm here. There were about 4 inches of snow on the ground & it was dark, windy & cold. As I drove to CT I had to put my sunglasses on at one point due to the glare. Yep, by the time I got to the casino exit on 395 it was an absolutely beautiful sunny day!!! I was able to leave my mittens & hat in the car and by the time we left the mall to head over to Ruby Tuesdays for coctails, it was downright warm out.
Meanwhile, the drive home was interesting. Before I got to the state line, the flakes were falling again. Soon enough it was a one lane road with zero visability or traction. It was white knuckle going there for a while & at one point a truck passed me & splashed 50 million gallons of slush on my windshield all at once. Man, that's scary & I screamed like a little girl! Because it was Saturday, the plows & sanders were slacking & I didn't get even close to decent road conditions until I was actually IN Worcester. It had snowed all day for them & there were another 4-6 inches on the ground. It's a heavy snow thats stuck to all the branches etc...very beautiful but also a pain in the ass to shovel. I find it so strange that we live in the smallest states in the union & there can be such major weather differences in such a short period of time.
Today we're heading over to Grips to celebrate D & Catlady's birthdays. I'm looking forward to playing in the snow with Cassidy too.
