Right here in domestic bliss.
I know I should write more and I keep saying that I will, then something comes up or I just don't have the energy. Ok, and it's partly cuz not a whole lot exciting goes on around here. Aside from potty training that is. Oh ya, & Cass is out of her crib sleeping in a big girl bed now. See, to me that's super exciting news. To you, my faithful readers - probably not quite so much.
Here's how most days go. Blixx gets up and leaves for work at an ungodly hour of the morning. I roll over & snuggle with the cats, only to drift off then find that Cass has gotten up and come to visit me in my bed. Lately she's been grabbing the remote from Blixx's side of bed & bringing it to me. I turn on Little Einstein's (a show that she only wants to watch on the upstairs tv - weird hu?) then drift off for a few more minutes. We get up & it's potty time, then food & milk in front of tv while Mommy drinks her coffee & takes a shower, hopefully alone but sometimes she'll strip & come visit me...arg so much for leg shaving again). Clothes on, more potty time & crap it's time for lunch so more food & drink and we're ready to go! Sometimes it's Target, or the park. Sometimes it's going to one of Cass's friends houses to play. Sometimes it's playgroup or a planned activity at the library or someplace.
She used to nap for a few hours in the afternoon & boy do I miss that quiet time in the middle of the day. Now she mostly has a rest of maybe 30 mins if I'm lucky then boing boing boing look at me Mommie! We've been taking late afternoon walks around the neighborhood to clow off steam and perhaps let me loose weight then it's dinner prep then dinner then bath time then bedtime.
On weekends we get together with Grip's family a lot and do outdoorsy stuff, or I invite us over for movies on his new giant HDtv.
Then I generally finish up the laundry or dishes or whatever it was that I tried in vain to do while the monkey was up & demanding interaction, then sit my ass down with a bottle of wine & watch stupid tv with Blixx & sometimes Grips until I can't keep my eyes open. Off to bed.
Repeat.
And you know what, I wouldn't change it for the world. Raising Cass to be the polite and smart little person that she is is the most rewarding job I've ever had. She's talking in complete sentences and knows so much about so many things. She can sing the alphabet song and do noodle math (bite a long piece of spaghetti in half...you had one, now you have TWO!!)
But regular jobs have 2 15 minute breaks, paid hour lunches where you can leave the premises if you like and paid vacations & holidays. Some days I feel like I've got it going on, the perfect balance in my life. Other days I just can't get out of my own way, but that's true of everyone everywhere.
Blixx is heading off for his first camp trip of the year tonight after work. He's been wonderful & super busy with work, so much so that he can be selective as to which clients he works for. Taxes are due in 2 weeks and we have barely even started.
Nutty said a few weeks ago that she'd shave a large sum off her inheritance from Nanny to give to us for a downpayment on a new house. Woo Hoo, right? So I start looking and immediately come up with some wonderful homes that we're really interested in. Here's one in Holdon that we really liked, and another one in Holdon that Blixx hasn't even seen but I LOVE. The first house we found is on College Hill in Worcester, right up the street from Grips.
But, I've got some questions for her accountant (mainly about covering my own ass tax wise) so I ask her to call him. A week goes by, I ask what he said & she says 'oh, he hasn't called back yet.' Grrr Arg so we're moving at Nutty's pace which is slower than shyt and smells just as bad. She called to tell me that she just did HER taxes and to hold off for a while on the house hunt until the dust settles. Fuck me she's dangling that big ass carrot in my face and I'm still falling for it. Old habits die hard I guess.
Let's see its going to be 70 degrees out and I'm still in the house, still in my pj's at 11am. I'm gunna shower then we'll head out to Hopkinton State Park for a picnic lunch, then to meet Tree & her 2 kids at a playground. Blixx won't be around for dinner, so I'll either glom onto plans with friends, or we'll come home & eat pizza for dinner. Later I'm looking forward to catching up on stupid tv (I'll post what I'm currently watching for crap on tv later on, if I get a chance). Tomorrow was supposed to be nice, but now calling for rain so not sure what we'll do to keep ourselves busy. Sunday it's church (yep, you read that right...not a joke) then to a 2 yrold birtday party. Perhaps we'll try to get something woodsy together for Sunday afternoon, since it's supposed to be nice.
I need a shower then I think I'm going to try flip flops...it's that nice out & Tree is a good enough girlfriend so she won't mind if my feet aren't quite up to summertime standards.
