Nutty excuses & I'm a big girl now
Nutty was supposed to come up today & buy Stride Rite out of business, but she broke a tooth so she has to get in to see the dentist. As far as excuses go, it's pretty creative. Oh well, we'll head over to the bookstore for storytime, then to Target to grab some stuff like laundry detergent. With Cass not drinking milk much any more (I took the bottles away...no more little baby bottles) we worry about her getting enough vitamins. While we were at Grips the other day she grabbed V's Flintstones & enjoyed the 'candy' so I figure it's a good time to get her started on the chewy kind. We've taken the gates down around the house too. Our little baby is growing up so rapidly.

He's from Finland
This weekend has been lovely. Friday night Blixx & I stayed in...alone. Hehe. Then Saturday we went out to Revere to celebrate two out of four of Rox's kids birthdays. We ended up putting Cass in with one of the girls & partying with Rox & Goomba until almost midnight. It was very cool to see the both of them relaxed for a change.
A friend of Grips from Finland is in town for the weekend so we hung out with him. Sunday started when we all went out to breakfast at the Broadway. There was Blixx, Cass & I..plus Saku & Grips, plus Flyboy (Grip's brother), Dee & baby Quint. Quite the gathering to be sure. We ate too much. Then back to Grips to digest then the boys went off to the IMAX theater to see James Cameron's Aliens of the Deep. I went home & read some vampire smut then cleaned the house. We went to Chinese buffet for dinner & ate way too much again. Then Blixx took Cass home for a nap while I went out to Vincent's with Grips & Saku. We had a couple of pops then came back here to my place to hang out again. I can't believe I don't have a hang over considering all I drank. Musta been the chinese that soaked up the shots beer & wine.
There's a couple inches of snow out there today which has added to my usual sloth. We're going grocery shopping then over to Grips again for dinner & drinks, perhaps a movie. His wife & V are in Florida with GeriDog so he has the house to himself. Cass had a great time playing with all of V's stuff yesterday when she wasn't home. Off to shovel snow, damn it!

Brewski
Tedi Bruschi, Blixx's favorite Patriot, seems to have suffered a stroke. Everyone grab your shwag wiwth his name on it now, cuz I just don't see how he can continue to play effectively for fear that he'd get hit & throw a clot.

The Wedding Date
Ok, so I knew it was going to be a crapfest, but I didn't know how bad it was going to be. The local theater offers a Mommy Movie every other Tuesday where they leave the lights up a little bit, offer changing stations & ya pretty much know what you're getting into in regard to the crying & running around. It's a cool thing & I enjoy letting Cassidy run around the theater while I watch a flick.
The Wedding Date with Debra Messing & Dermott Mulroney was such a sucky movie that I almost walked, but Cass was having fun chasing her friend Malia around I decided to stick it out. Besides, how often do I get to sit & watch a movie? Yeah, & eat popcorn for breakfast. Sue me. Ok, so I knew it would be shmaltzy but c'mon! There were glaring plot holes, a decided lack of acting ability & the ending...well, who cares, really. Quite the disapointment.
In other news, after the movie we did a little shopping (got an Old Navy $32 fleece for $6 on clearance!) then headed to the playground, since it's another unnaturally beautiful & temperate day. I had Cass in a little peach jogging suit & her winter boots - other mom's had their kids in full winter snow suits where they could barely move.
"Do you think she's warm enough in just that?" asked one mom, pointing to my daughter who is able to climb the stairs to the slide on her own now.
"Yes, considering it's 50 degrees out. You & I are comfortable in a light jacket - why wouldn't she?" I replied.
"Well, I don't know. Babies can get sick from the cold" She says.
"Babies get sick from other babies germs. Thank you for your concern, but if she's unfomfortable she'll tell me." And I walked away.
Arg, Meddling Moms.
Cass didn't want to leave the muddy playground & put up quite the fight getting into her car seat. As a result of that fight, I'm heading out to my car to give it a good crap reduction therapy. I'm not saying that I'll vacuum or anything, but there's goldfish cracker crumbs EVERYWHERE, what looks to be chicken nugget residue on the backseat & some fries under the 14 pairs of baby shoes & 6 dirty sippy cups out there. Not even I can ignore that size of a mess.

Confused
I'm eating peanut M&M's & watching Oprah tell me how she lost all that weight. Her trainer is saying that you should weigh yourself every day & "own" the weight, drink 6 8-oz glasses of water & eat smart. M&M's are smart, right? Oh wait, I'm smart cuz I'm drinking a Diet Coke with it. Everything cancels out.

Alley Cat - hmmmm
You are a Random cat! Also known as an alley cat

People love you for who you are, not what you

Weekend Lack of Plans
Blixx is working late tonight & all day tomorrow, so no big plans this evening, except to watch SciFi channel. Yep, I'm a geek. Tomorrow I'm taking Cassidy (& possibly V) to a Valentine's Day Ball. It's sponsored by this wonderful little children's bookstore that we go to every Wednesday for story time. There will be music & food & valentine's just for little ones. Last time Nutty was up I had her buy Cass this really cute little pink dress with a rainbow heart on it. There's matching tights & sweater...she's going to be super cute. I'll be sure to post pictures.
So Blixx has been working his ass off all week so he'll be righteously tired Saturday night & Sunday. Not sure what trouble we'll get into on Sunday. Perhaps I'll invite folks over for a crock-pot surprise dinner. Or perhaps I'll decide that Cass staying home all day isn't a huge problem and relax for a change. Nope, probably not going to happen.
Oh BIG NEWS! I'm not pregnant. Ok, so perhaps you didn't need to know that I'm on the rag, providing the Red Sea, rebooting the ovarian operating system, taking Carrie to the prom... Some call it the curse, but go ahead and have a 'surprise' kid. Then you'll call it the monthly blessing. I messed with my cycles again so I had weird stuff go on last month. Then I had several dreams that I was pregnant, or had more kids. Yep, plural. So imagine my glee when I woke this morning with unreasonably vicious cramps and a migraine. Strange how having a child changes everything.

Amnesia, not just for soap operas any more
Greetings. Check this link out. A teenager was found on a street corner in a Boston town, his only memory that of being chucked out of a car into a snow bank. No money. No ID. No clue who he is. Wacky stuff there.

Dynasty
Patriot Nation Rejoice!
Yep, that Patriots have won the superbowl again. Woo Hoo! We stayed home & invited Grips over for chili to watch the game. It worked out great cuz Cass went to sleep at halftime. I missed the show - did we see Paul McCartney's tittie? Our neighbors were all yelling and beeping when they won. There were even illegal fireworks down the street to celebrate. All the newscasters seemed disapointed that there weren't any riots in Kenmore Square like with the Red Sox win, but I'm not suprised. I mean...they killed someone last time. Yeah...I'll take my party elsewhere.
The weather this weekend was amazing. I even had the windows open in my house! Saturday we met Grips & family at the park to go sledding. Cass loved it! She also thought going down the slide & ending up in a big pile of snow was hysterical too. It was just so lovely to be outside for a change! Blixx had fun playing in the snow too. Before we could leave, V & Cass headed to the track next to the playground. V took off on her bike & Cass toddles behind her. We decided to follow & although it took a while, Cass walked all around the 1/4 mile track with no problems. Granted when we came home she was so tired & hungry that she didn't realize that she was tired & hungry. Daddy took care of that one.
There's a new Shaws supermarket around the corner from us & it is HUGE. I mean Walmart HUGE. They have those giant shopping carts shaped like cars that Cass demands now...but they have all different ones...Cass almost made me change over to the firetruck one when she saw it. Oh yes, even grocery shopping is fun. We made a killer chili for superbowl dinner with honey corn bread, drank some beers & watched at the Pats slowly but surely won the superbowl again.
I saw most of the Simpsons episode after the game, but it was on so late! The premier of that new show American Dad was on after that, but I apparently fell asleep. Cass woke up at around 2:30am & the tv was still on in our room. Ooops. Brady making fun of himself was cool. Too bad he didn't get game Mvp. My friend SherBear was heading to Disney today to see him. I wonder if she'll go for Dion Branch...somehow I don't think he's cute or single enough.

It was 52 degrees out on Saturday, so we went to the park & walked around the track. It was beautiful to feel the sun on my face. Here Cass is preparing to fight back with her uncle, who had been tossing snowballs at the girls.

This was taken at around 2am on New Years. We'd wrapped her up and put her in Grip's office at around 10pm...she was having her own little party I guess.

Still here
Haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd let you know that we're al alive & kicking. Looking forward to the superbowl. We were invited to some parties, but I think we'll be staying home to enjoy the game. That way Cass is more comfortable & we can get as drunkas we want & not have to drive. HEHE.
Blixx has been working crazy lately, which is awesome except that the checks aren't rolling in. We're refinancing our mortgage, which is exciting. I'm in a panic about money but I know everything will be fine.
I've been throwing my resume out looking for work. What I want is a PT job like 3 days a week for gobs of money. Just to get my feet wet. So far, no such luck but I remain hopeful. Shit I should be a nanny.
HEHE thats funny cuz my one kid drives me up the wall most days. It's a battle of wills & most often she wins. Damn her for being just like me. No patience. Quick to anger. Quick to forget & move on to other things. Yep, she's mine through & through.
I'm looking forward to the weekend to relax & have Blixx around to assist with her. I'm thinking that if Saturday is nice we'll suit her up & go play at the frosty playground. I mean, it can't be THAT muddy, right?
