My boss came back to work for a while yesterday and told her horror stories in person. It was chilling to hear her describe the panic and wonder in NYC. She walked all around the city, looking for a port in the storm and when she heard the trains were running again, she headed to Grand Central. She boarded a train bound for anywhere (CT, as it turned out) just thankful to get out of the city. As she was riding away to safety with others covered in the ash and grime, it occurred to her that no one had searched her or her bags as she boarded the train. There was little to no security to be seen. The trains were open to anyone who wanted to get out of the city...and she looked around at the faces there and wondered if she was in the same train car with a terrorist trying to get back home to his wife and kids in the suburbs.

I heard that some airline employees out west decided to test the newly upped security systems at airports. Read about it HERE.So much for tightened security.

Keep your eyes open.

Peace.
